Seborrhoeic Keratosis
Seborrhoeic keratosis is a common, harmless skin growth that often appears on the face, chest, or back. It's also known as a senile wart, barnacle, or shagreen patch.
Symptoms
Seborrhoeic keratoses are usually brown or black and can have a waxy, scaly, or gritty surface. They range in size from a few millimetres to several centimetres. Usually, they don't cause any problems but can become irritated, itchy, or bleed.
The most common reasons for seborrhoeic keratoses are age and sun exposure. However, they can also be caused by other things such as genetics, infectious agents, and certain medications.
